A photograph worth making is a photo worth printing and no portrait is complete without a frame. While there are endless options for displaying an image, we focus on the most classical material: Wood. Instead of relying on off the shelf pre-made frames or mouldings, we start with locally sourced woods, such as hinoki, keyaki and cherry. After milling the wood down, the stock is meticulously assembled with traditional joinery and sealed with simple finish that accentuates the natural beauty of the wood and skin tones of the subject. The result is a beautiful piece of ready to display artwork, produced start to finish right here in Funasaka.
