Where are you located?

I am based in Kobe, Japan with frequent trips back home to Honolulu.

What locations do you shoot?

Unfortunately, right not on Oahu, there are fewer and fewer places to legally shoot at scenic locations. Currently, professional photography has been banned at most windward beaches and parks. The best place to shoot can often be your own home. Individual classic portraits require much less space than full length group shots, and especially with kids, indoor can be a much better option. Location family and children’s portraits are still available in certain areas, but please note there is a larger minimum investment, given the extra time required due to all of the variables of shooting in nature, such as blinding sunlight, stormy days, rain and maybe most importantly, wind. Feel free to fill out the form at the bottom of this page if you have questions about a specific location.

What products and sizes do you sell?

My products are all ready to display fine art pieces. In a time when there are many gimmicky photo products on the market I focus primarily on traditional gallery displays of the highest quality fine art prints, utilizing archival materials and techniques to produce family heirlooms which can be enjoyed your family for generations to come. These prints are conservation mounted and matted on museum grade cotton boards, then finished with a custom, handmade hardwood frame, designed to compliment the warm skin tones of the portrait.

I’m not interested in prints, can I just get the digital files?

What I do is a little bit different from the majority of photographers today. My product are all beautifully handcrafted, ready to display artwork, produced from start to finish using exacting methods and the finest materials available. From equipment selection, to lighting, to post production, printing(and framing of course!), decades of experience end expertise are used to create stunning works with precise color and amazing details. As such, I do not sell digital images ala carte. Sharing size digital files are included with each piece and after a minimum investment has been made, additional digital images can be purchased as a package.

How much do you charge for a shoot?

For portrait creation, I don’t charge a session fee. While shooting photos is obviously a very important part of creating a portrait, I am selling ready to display, one of a kind, fine art pieces. Please note, that while i don’t have a sitting fee, I do have a minimum investment of only $600 for studio portraits($1600 for location shoots), which goes directly towards the cost of your artwork. Most families can expect an investment starting at around $1600, for three 8x10” prints in 11x14” frames or a 17”x22” in a 20x25” frame. The daintiest pieces, sold only as part of a collection, are about two inches in a five inch frame for $150. Please contact below for more details.

I live on the North Shore, can you come to me?

Absolutely. Availability to shoot outside of the immediate Honolulu area is limited, though. For locations beyond Honolulu Airport to the west and Kaneohe to the northwest, a deposit equalling the minimum investment will be required to confirm booking of the shoot. Neighbor islands? Certainly possible with the addition of travel expenses and fees.

I wish it didn’t need to be said, but…

…all types of families, couples and children are welcome in front of my lens. While my services may not be for everyone, your race, color, creed, gender or orientation of any kind, or even politics are not a barrier. We’ve all got more in common than not, and I’m just here to make amazing images of my fellow humans, big and small.
